Honnavar & Sirsi, Western Ghats
Hand-churned A2 bilona ghee, raw forest honey, stone-ground spice powders, and wild appemidi pickles from Uttara Kannada.

No industrial machinery or chemical shortcuts. Every batch of ghee and honey follows slow, traditional methods kept alive by coastal Karnataka families.
Indigenous Hallikar and Malnad Gidda cattle graze freely in the Western Ghats hillsides, feeding on seasonal forest grasses and wild medicinal foliage.
Fresh whole milk is gently boiled over firewood, cooled naturally, and set into curd in earthenware pots overnight to let healthy lactic cultures thrive.
Before sunrise, the cultured curd is churned using a two-way wooden bilona staff. The pure butter separates naturally and is hand-washed in cold spring water.
The butter is gently melted in heavy brass urulis over low wood fire embers with fresh betel leaves, yielding authentic golden grain texture and aroma.
Why Havikar
Prepared in small runs in Honnavar and Sirsi, using ingredients we feed our own elders and children.
Explore All Products →No automated factory lines or bulk co-packers. Everything is prepared in Honnavar and Sirsi using recipes passed down through generations of Karnataka households.
We do not use artificial vinegar in our pickles, palm oil in our spice blends, or inverted sugar syrup in our honey. Every ingredient is clearly stated on the jar.
Our raw wild honey comes from forest hives in Uttara Kannada. Our A2 ghee is churned from whole-milk curd set in clay pots. We know exactly where each batch begins.
We roast and grind spices in limited quantities so natural aromatic oils stay intact instead of losing pungency on warehouse shelves.
We source directly from farming families and traditional beekeepers in Honnavar, Sirsi, and Kumta. Zero commercial blending or third-party repackaging.
Prepared using heirloom recipes without chemical stabilizers, artificial flavors, or synthetic colors. Tested for purity and freshness.

“The bilona ghee smells like the ghee my grandmother made in Shimoga. We use it every day on hot anna (rice) and bele saaru. Clean and aromatic without any artificial smell.”
“I was hesitant to order hing and pickles online, but opening the jar proved it right away. Strong, real compounded hing without chemical scent, and the appemidi has the genuine Malnad crunch.”
“We bought the A2 bilona ghee and nutro drink mix for our two-year-old. Great granular texture and zero artificial sweetness. Good to have genuine food delivered to the city.”
“The raw wild honey came securely packed in glass jars. You can taste the multifloral forest nectar, not commercial sugar syrup. Consistent quality across my last three orders.”
